1 Getting Started
Connect Your Wallet
Before you can mint or view NFTs, you need to connect your crypto wallet:
- Click the "Connect MetaMask" button in the top right corner
- Select your wallet provider (MetaMask is recommended)
- Choose your account and approve the connection
- Ensure you're connected to Base Network (Chain ID: 8453)
Note: You'll need some ETH in your wallet to pay for minting fees and gas costs.
Warning: Never share your private key or seed phrase with anyone. This DApp will never ask for this information.
2 Minting NFTs
Upload Your Image
To create an on-chain NFT:
- Go to the "Mint NFT" tab
- Click "Upload Image" and select your image file (JPG, PNG, GIF supported)
- Choose your output format (JPEG recommended for smaller size)
- Adjust JPEG quality if needed (80 is recommended)
Image Size Warning: Larger images will cost significantly more gas to store on-chain. We recommend resizing to 256x256 or smaller.
Resize Your Image
After uploading:
- Click either "Resize to 128x128" or "Resize to 256x256"
- Wait for the image to process (usually takes a few seconds)
- Review the resized image and file size information
- Download the resized image if you want a copy
Tip: The original file remains unchanged - you're creating a new resized version for on-chain storage.
Complete NFT Details
Finalize your NFT before minting:
- Enter a name for your NFT (required)
- Add a description (optional but recommended)
- Choose payment method: ETH or DappUse tokens
- Review the estimated minting cost
- Click "Mint NFT on Base Network"
Important: Once minted, your NFT and its image data will be permanently stored on the blockchain. You cannot edit or delete it later.
3 Viewing Your NFTs
View Your Collection
To see NFTs in your wallet:
- Go to the "My NFTs" tab
- Your NFTs will automatically load if your wallet is connected
- Click on any NFT to view details (not implemented in current version)
Note: It may take a few seconds to load your NFTs depending on network conditions.
View Any NFT
To view any NFT by its token URI or ID:
- Go to the "View NFT" tab
- Enter either the token ID (number) or full token URI
- Click "View NFT"
- The NFT image and metadata will display
- Click "Download Image" to save a copy
4 Troubleshooting
Common Issues
- Wallet not connecting: Make sure you have MetaMask or another Web3 wallet installed
- Wrong network: Switch to Base Network (Chain ID: 8453)
- Transaction failing: Try increasing gas limit or wait for less network congestion
- Image not loading: Check if the image format is supported (JPG, PNG, GIF)
- No NFTs showing: Ensure you're using the correct wallet address
Best Practices
- Always test with a small image first to estimate gas costs
- Double-check all NFT details before minting
- Keep a record of your token IDs and transaction hashes
- Mint during periods of low network congestion for lower fees
- Consider the environmental impact of on-chain storage
